Patrons of the newly-opened Garden State Hotel in Melbourne’s CBD won’t just enjoy great beer and amazing food, but will soon have free access to super-fast broadband too.
Opened late last month and occupying four levels, the Garden State Hotel in Flinders Lane features a traditional pub, a laneway bar, a bistro and private dining spaces.
As well as the friendly atmosphere and excellent facilities, something that helps set Garden State apart is its connectivity; provided by Lightning Broadband.
“Even though there are plenty of fibre cables throughout Melbourne’s CBD, they could not be connected and activated in time for launch of this establishment,” said Lightning Broadband CEO, Jeremy Rich.
“This is one of the reasons why the Directors of Sand Hill Road elected to go with Lightning’s high-speed point-to-point wireless broadband service.”
Sand Hill Road is a privately owned, Melbourne-based hospitality group founded in 2000. It has owned, developed and operated 10 different hotels; with Garden State Hotel the company’s biggest project to date.
“We are passionate about pubs. We keep a keen eye on what’s going on in cities like New York, London and Berlin. But our home is Melbourne,” according to the Sand Hill Road web site. “We love its pubs. We love its culture. We love its character. It’s a cracking international city, and we are proud to be a part of it.”
So, if you’re looking to enjoy a cold beer while surfing the web at breakneck speeds, the Garden State Hotel will soon become the place to be in Melbourne.
Lightning Broadband installations are increasingly being rolled out across Melbourne, and the company has its eye on expanding throughout Australia.
Lightning Broadband offers low-latency, lightning fast internet plans up to 1,000 Mbps for businesses and other commercial premises at very competitive pricing – and without needing NBN access.
Unlike some other business broadband services that can slow to a crawl during peak times, Lightning’s plans are based on uncontended connections. Commercial connections are built on a non shared network that doesn’t run on residential sectors. The service is also symmetrical, meaning upload speeds are as zippy as downloading.
Lightning Broadband’s business connectivity plans are tailored to the requirements of the customer.
“Each business is unique, so we design broadband services for each customer to suit their needs and goals – and at the best price possible,” says Mr. Rich.
In addition to offering commercial connectivity, Lightning Broadband also provides super-fast home broadband plans, plus high-speed services for apartment buildings and other residential developments.
